Astuce d'atelier: La chambre humide - Goye artiste céramiste

Workshop tip: The humid room

Here's how to keep your rooms humid for several days, or even weeks!

You will need:

  • two plastics
  • a damp cloth
  • newspaper

This technique is called a humid room because it keeps clothes in a humid environment to stop the drying process and protect them from drafts. If you use this technique for several weeks, simply check that the laundry remains damp.

For this to be effective, carefully follow the steps below in order.

The steps:

  1. Prepare a wooden board with a large piece of waterproof plastic (without holes) on top.
  2. Place a sheet of newspaper over the surface as needed to control condensation over several days.
  3. Place your pieces and tightly close the plastic over itself to prevent drafts.
  4. Place a damp, wrung-out cloth on the first piece of plastic.
  5. Put a second plastic sheet over the damp cloth and fold it down well under the board (or the room) to avoid drafts.

Check from time to time that the laundry remains damp and dampen it as needed. That's all there is to it! You can also watch this video
